Dedicated to improving the built environment through professional project management services

About Us

Brodie is an Owner’s Representation and Land Use Planning/Permitting firm focused on client advocacy, support, and stewardship. We pride ourselves on being an extension of the Client’s team—able to provide construction expertise as well as a nuanced understanding of client priorities. Our steadfast commitment to this overarching vision has helped foster and maintain Brodie lasting client partnerships.

Over the course of its 20+ year history, Brodie has completed over 275 projects and managed in excess of 2.5 billion dollars in construction volume. These ventures have run the gamut from small-scale tenant improvements to touchstone capital projects. While the company has grown and expanded to meet the needs of a diverse client roster, it remains, at its core, a people oriented business.

We handle everything from the big (sourcing a quality project team) to the small (coordinating a fine art installation) to ensure a seamless client experience. Ultimately, we seek not only to bring the project at hand to completion, but also to develop a relationship for years to come. Brodie has spent the last two decades developing a diverse portfolio and a team uniquely suited to meet the challenges of an evolving built environment.

Our History

Brodie is the culmination of Steve Brodie’s fifty-year career in the construction industry. Having earned advanced degrees and held professional positions in the fields of architecture, general contracting, and real estate development, Steve possessed a rare and unique combination of construction expertise and business acumen. Witnessing the disconnect between the construction process and the actual clients that these projects ultimately sought to serve, Steve founded Brodie in 1997 in an effort to address the glaring gap in the services traditionally offered in the industry. Steve saw a need for client-centric advocacy rooted in intimate knowledge of the construction industry, and he set upon the task of filling that void.

Having established Brodie as an industry leader in the Bay Area and beyond, and gathered a team to uphold and expand upon that effort, Steve passed away in January of 2020. With his passing, we lost a cherished friend and a remarkable leader—and that loss will linger in the hearts and minds of all those who were lucky enough to come within Steve’s orbit. As both a master builder and a mentor to Brodie rising leaders, Steve was never one that found himself in the business of being easily or soon forgotten. While there are countless physical monuments to Steve’s legacy, the true mark of his lasting impact lives on in the people who remain indelibly shaped by their relationships with him.
